Lady Nelson in Hobart
The Lady Nelson ship is actually a very detailed replica and built so that tourists can experience a little of its history. The ship has a fascinating history and was used in the 19th century to explore the coastline of Australia. It is named after the wife of Admiral Horatio Nelson. The original ship was built in 1799, but this replica is much more recent and was built in 1988. It is easy to find and close to the Elizabeth St. Pier.

Mount Wellington
Mount Wellington is an incredible backdrop to Hobart and make a really impressive feature in its skyline. We had a day to fill so went drove up the road to the summit, where there were observation decks and a visitor centre with a lookout, which provided a bit of shelter, as it was rather windy that day.

The Constitution Dock
The habour of Hobart is based around Sullivans Cove and this is a very busy area. Lots of cruise ships depart from the dock daily, connecting places like Port Arthur and also the Tasman peninsula.

Hobart May Queen - still floating!
This is a very special ship in Australia and is actually the oldest sailing trading ship in the country - still actually floating! It was built over 150 years ago and carried all kind of building supplies to Tasmania for well over 100 of those. The May Queen is often seen in sailing regattas and is quite a local star. A very beautiful ship.
